 The following two courses are aimed at end-users and also system administrators and provide the basic essentials of the Unix or Linux system.
The Unix & Linux Essentials course is a prerequisite to the Solaris and Enterprise Linux system administration courses. If a user has no Unix experience, it is essential that they attend the Unix & Linux Essentials course before proceeding with the administration courses.
The Unix & Linux Shell Programming course is not a prerequisite to another course, but it is strongly recommended that system administrators attend this course to enable them to administrator their system more effectively. Most of the tasks which the delegate will be taught in the administration courses can be automated with the use of shell scripts, for example, file system checking, backups etc.
